How did "left" and "right" come to represent the ends of the political spectrum?

The right side of the body is controlled by the left side of the brain and vice versa. So, only those on the left are in their right minds.

It's hard to tell untill after the election and all the promises are forgotten and the elected ones are going around in circles blaming someone else for the mess they created.

Both political extremes should be LEFT-RIGHT OUT !

Wrong goes both ways.

From the French Revolution and who sat to the left or right of the president's chair.
