Who buys more shoes, men or women?

I have 4 pairs. Dress shoes, loafers, sneakers and golf shoes. Imelda (oops, I mean Linda), on the other hand has 43,837 pairs and counting.

When I was married, I could go to the closet(s) and see many more women's shoes than men's shoes. However, when I looked at the bills, I saw that I bought all of the shoes, so.......

Women own more shoes

but

Men buy more shoes.

My first thaught is children. But children don't buy shoes, they wear them, wear them out, and outgrow them. Most children's shoes are bought by Mommies, Thus my final answer is Women.

For the shoes that go on humans, WOMEN.
For the shoes that go on horses, brakes, mistresses, etc., MEN.
